On 22 October, the government announced a NZ$2.8 million Regional Infrastructure Fund grant for Kaipara’s oyster industry, including a commercial pilot farm, a relay site and supporting marine infrastructure. The project aims to reduce disruption from water-quality-related harvest closures; aquaculture businesses and sustainability consultants can explore water-quality monitoring, environmental modelling and resource-efficiency analytics, while HPC can support data-intensive analysis with a project-specific quotation.
